Simplann App — Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Simplann mobile app. For the website, see our Website Privacy Policy.

1. Data Stored on Your Device

Simplann is local-first. The following stays on your device and is never sent to our servers:

• Courses — the subjects you add
• Study logs — time spent, course, and optional notes for each session
• Reminder settings — your preferred notification times
• Onboarding choices — semester info and preferences

All of this is removed when you uninstall the app or clear the app's storage.

2. Notifications

Simplann sends local push notifications to remind you to log your daily study sessions. These are:

• Local only — scheduled and delivered entirely on your device
• No server involved — notification content and timing never leave your phone
• Configurable — you can enable/disable reminders anytime in the app's Settings or through your device's system notification settings

3. Optional Email Subscription

During onboarding, you may optionally share your email to receive tips, product updates, and study resources. If you subscribe:

• Your email and semester metadata are sent to Brevo (our email provider) via simplann.com
• We use this only for the email list you joined
• Unsubscribe anytime via the link in any email

If you skip this step, no email is collected.

4. Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics (Google) to understand how the app is used so we can improve it. Firebase collects:

• App opens and session duration
• Features used (study logging, summaries viewed, settings changed)
• Notification interactions (when a reminder prompts you to open the app)

Firebase does not collect your study data, course names, or personal content. All analytics are anonymous by default. See Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data. The only third parties with any access are:

• Brevo — only if you opt into email updates
• Firebase Analytics (Google) — anonymous usage analytics

6. Children's Privacy

Simplann is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Your Control

• Uninstall the app to remove all local data
• Unsubscribe from emails at any time
• Disable notifications in app Settings or system settings

8. Changes

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted at this URL.
